Nigerian Christian Afro-hip-hop duo Tru Mantra have officially unveiled their highly anticipated debut album, “Light Work”, a dynamic 12-track project that blends Christian faith, Nigerian culture, contemporary Afro-hip-hop, and authentic storytelling into a refreshing and purpose-driven sound.

Comprising Lanre Abiose and Tony Okwechime, Tru Mantra have carved out a distinctive musical identity through a compelling fusion of lyrical rap, memorable melodies, infectious Afro-inspired rhythms, and relatable narratives. Drawing from their Christian faith, Nigerian heritage, and diverse life experiences, the duo creates music that speaks honestly to everyday realities while pointing listeners toward hope, purpose, and positive influence.

Built around the guiding mission “Light music in a dark world”, Light Work goes beyond being a debut album. It represents Tru Mantra’s desire to use music as a vessel for encouragement, inspiration, and the message of Christ, bringing light to the everyday experiences that shape people’s lives.

The project opens with “Never Let You Go (Remix)” and continues through “Together,” “Butter Bread,” “Ebube,” “Why,” “Kpom (Full Stop),” “Don’t Trip,” “Jeje,” “Life Na Gift,” “Better,” “Tell Me Something,” and “Eyin Nikan (Only You).” Each track contributes to a diverse yet cohesive body of work that reflects the duo’s musical range and message.
