THE WEALTH OF THE SINNER
22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. Proverbs 13:22
Where the children of Israel were concerned, the Egyptians could be described as the “sinner.” After all, they had been their taskmasters for over four hundred years.
The reason God gave the children of Israel the wealth of the Egyptians was so that they could build Him a dwelling place. They began to see why they were carrying all that silver and gold: to build a dwelling place where Jehovah would reside. That is why the dwelling place was so carefully built with the wealth that came from Egypt. The ark of the covenant was built exactly to God-given specifications and it was of the topmost quality: gold. The people could build the dwelling place because they had seen that with or without the silver and gold Jehovah could take care of them.
You have to get to a point where you realize that Jehovah shall provide for you both when you have money and when you don’t. The money you have is not what makes Him provide for you. He can provide for you with or without your money, but the reason you should have the money is to enable you pro- vide a dwelling place for Him.
Today, the church, the Body of Christ, is the dwelling place of God. 2 Corinthians 6:16 says, “For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’” Each time somebody gets born again, God has received a new dwelling place. Glory be to God! When you give to your local assembly, you are building Him dwelling places. When you give to your man of God, you are building Him dwelling places. When you give to a ministry that preaches the undiluted Word via television or radio, you are building Him dwelling places. When you give to the Great Commission, you are building Him dwelling places. Can you dare to have more than enough? It is time for you to have more than enough, if you only believe.
Confession: I believe in having more than enough. Jehovah God is my source and He provides for me whether I have money or I don’t. His ability to provide for me is not dependent on what I have.
